I'm about a semester behind graduating on time, so I'm realistically looking at graduating in December 2009 even though I'm about to start my fourth year. I am a sports administration major, it is the fourth major I've declared for, but chances are that this one will definitely stick (college ain't free, you know). What's sport administration? It's pretty much what it sounds like. It is a focused business major that specializes in the business side of sports. High school through the pros. I don't know if I'll ever actually do anything with it, but lord knows its more fun than Journalism, English, and Advertising...my previous three majors...
So...umm... I work for Ball State basketball. I've been working for them since 2005. Meaning, I've been a manager for three completely different coaching staffs... In fact, I'm the only staff member that can claim that. I take pride in that fact. We've been relatively unsuccessful in my managerial career, going a combined 24-64 in three years. Considering that it is unlikely that we'll go 41-0 this upcoming season, I'll probably finish out my "senior" year with a losing record.
Obviously, I'm a big sports person, but not as big as I used to be. I root for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers, and the Tennessee Titans. The only college team I really root for is Ball State University, but University of Evansville baseball and University of Southern Indiana basketball hold a special place in my heart. I tend to be overly optimistic about things, but my teams as of late lead to a lot more pessimism. So if I'm writing about them, I write in extremes.
Musically speaking, I'm very much a hip-hop head, so to speak. I like pretty much all kinds of hip-hop that aren't played on TV. The current stuff out, for the most part, is unlistenable. My favorite groups of all time are the Legendary Roots Crew and A Tribe Called Quest. My favorite group out nowadays is Little Brother. I'm a big neo-soul and old school soul fan. Anthony Hamilton might be one of my favorite artists ever. I love blues music too, and I've seen B.B. King live twice. I'll probably be writing a ton about music, if I can keep this updated.
Lastly, my hometown Evansville, sucks. But I have a ridiculous amount of hometown pride. Nothing you ever say will be as good as something about Evansville. Sorry, I don't make the rules (well, actually I do), but you gotta live by them.
