Ice-T & Soulja Boy Squash The Beef

In the rap feud of the year, Soulja Boy and Ice-T have officially ended their beefing. Okay... wait, what? Isn't it sad that this is actually a headline on some hip hop sites today? An old washed-up rapper turned actor and a 17-year-old one-hit wonder going at it over the internet? Really?

Well, I got nothing better to do, so may as well break it down for y'all. Short history: Ice-T said Soulja boy single-handedly killed hip hop, told Soulja Boy to "eat a dick" and bashed Hurricane Chris's braids. Soulja Boy lashed back with a video on YouTube where he said that Ice should be ashamed of himself, made fun of the haircut and his acting role with Law & Order: SVU... Oh, and he called him old (a lot). Now it couldn't end there, Ice had to respond...(and did a lot of backpedaling). He followed up a bit more on that week's Jamie Foxx Show on Sirius Radio.

People like to argue over who wins a beef or whatever, and the winner in this one is Soulja Boy by a pretty good margin. I know most people might be surprised to hear this, but in the battle of who could act less childish, Soulja Boy won. Ice was messed up from the start, hip hop isn't dead and never was. If hip hop's dead, why is Ice releasing an album this year? If Soulja Boy killed it, why did people start saying that shit in, like, 2000? Commercial hip hop has gotten ridiculous, yes, but come on. Soulja Boy took advantage of a messed up system and won, not the other way around. Gettin' Some Head came out like three years ago, and lord knows that was more of a sign of the apocalypse than Crank That was...
