Obviously, I'm taking a bit of a break...

I spent the last couple days on a trip to Green Bay, WI with some friends, and this week may be a bit hectic as well. I'm probably going home to Evansville tomorrow, and when I get back from there, I should be able to start moving in to my new apartment. My internet will be hooked up there sometime Monday afternoon.

I'm not saying I won't be posting, but it won't be every day or anything. It'll be here-and-there at the very most.

I guess it's called karma...

McCain's interesting attacks yesterday led to over 100,000 monetary contributions yesterday alone. One-third of which came from first-time donors... Interesting...

If you consider the average contribution to the Obama campaign hovers between fifty and one hundred bucks a piece, we could be talking huge numbers for a single day. In the interest of full disclosure, Obama is offering tickets or VIP passes for the convention to his donors right now. The minimum donation to qualify is just five dollars. However, he's had similar programs throughout the campaign, and the average donation stayed in that same range.

Remember, all those nice things I said about Mike Williams?

Nevermind.

Oh well...

Dodgers Land Manny!

I was busy almost all yesterday evening and through to early this morning. Let me tell you though, when I heard the Dodgers landed Manny Ramirez, I almost shot through the roof. I figured the Dodgers had a pretty good shot when the Marlins deal fell through. Los Angeles has a plethora of young players to the point where they're almost overloaded.

Anyway, I'm happy to see that LA is gonna try to make this run though. The pitching is above average, and if there would just be a little bit of offense, LA could run away with this division. The only issue now is the overloaded outfield, but I'm not too worried about finding a place for one of baseball's best offensive machines over the last 10 years.

Obama didn't play the "race card"

Yesterday, the one of the worst campaign managers in recent history suggested that by Obama repeating the "They're gonna say that I don't look like all those presidents on the dollar bills" line was a way for Obama to accuse McCain of being racist. Give me a break. Obama's been saying that line since the very beginning. He generally starts with a litany of reasons why his detractors will say not to vote for him ending with "I gotta funny name" and the above line.

He's not going after McCain at all, I don't see how one could even say that considering those lines have been part of his campaign speeches for a LONG time. He's addressing the fact that there are a lot of people in this country advocating voting for McCain for the sole fact that McCain is white. Everybody knows this, most of us have at least one racist relative to begin with. If Obama mentions his race, it's not automatically taking potshots at McCain.

McCain is towing a very fine line right now though. He accuses Obama of playing the race card, but has stopped just short of calling Obama "uppity" for the last week...
